Pretty Slide Decks in 5 Minutes with Claude
My Claude prompts · Last checked: October 2026
This one's for the moms who get asked to make a slide deck for every meeting. My content is always good. I just can never make it as pretty as I want, and I don't want to spend hours on it.
So I gave Claude the job. I typed one paragraph, and a few minutes later I had a designed 10-slide deck. These are the prompts I use, for work, for home and for the kids' school projects. Copy one, swap in your details where you see [brackets], and paste it into Claude.
A few tips before you start:
- The more real details you give it (who it's for, how long you have, your actual notes), the better the deck.
- Tell it your colors. "Purple and pink" or "our school colors, navy and gold" works.
- You don't have to get it right the first time. Just type what you want changed.
- Messy notes are fine. Bullets, a voice memo you typed out, a screenshot of your Notes app. It sorts it out.
What you need
Just Claude. Use it at claude.ai or in the Claude app on your phone or computer.
The deck: Start a new chat and paste a prompt. Claude builds the slides right there, where you can click on a slide to change the words or just ask for changes. Anthropic lists Slides on every Claude plan, including the free one. The free plan has lower limits, so a long deck with lots of changes can run out of messages sooner.
Downloading it: Download your deck as a PowerPoint or a PDF. Want it in Google Slides? Upload the PowerPoint to Google Drive and open it with Google Slides.
Spreadsheets (optional): To turn your plan into a spreadsheet, turn on Settings, then Capabilities, then Code execution and file creation. Then you can download the spreadsheet or save it to Google Drive.
Gmail and Google Calendar (optional): Two add-on prompts below can read your calendar and email so you don't have to paste anything. Connect them in Settings, then Connectors. Skip this if you'd rather paste.
Menus move around a lot. If you get stuck, ask Claude itself: "How do I download this deck as a PowerPoint?" More on Claude and the others in The AI Tools I Actually Use, and connecting apps step by step is in The AI Plugins Every Mom Should Connect.
Before you start: 1 minute of setup
- Grab your notes first. Whatever you have: bullets, an old deck, the email that started this whole thing.
- Know your colors and your vibe. Clean and modern, warm fall colors, your school or company colors.
- Keep each deck in one chat. When you want changes, keep typing in that same chat so Claude changes the deck you already have instead of starting over.
- Making it for work? Check your company's rules on AI first, and leave out anything confidential, like client names or numbers that aren't public.
How it works, in 5 minutes
Here's the whole thing, start to finish.
- Minute 1Copy the prompt that fits below and swap in your details where you see [brackets].
- Minute 2Paste it into a new Claude chat and send. Claude builds the deck while you grab your coffee.
- Minutes 3 to 4Click through it. Fix a word right on the slide, or type what you want changed, like new colors or one more slide.
- Minute 5Download it as a PowerPoint or PDF, or ask for your speaker notes so you know what to say.
The prompts show up right here.
Enter your first name and email in the form at the top of this page, and every prompt shows up in this spot.

Do I need a paid plan?
You can start on Claude's free plan. Anthropic lists Slides on every plan, including Free. Free has lower limits, so a long deck or lots of changes can run out sooner, and plans change often, so check Claude's own plan page for the latest.
I got a wall of text, not slides.
Say "Make this a slide deck I can click through." If you still only see text, make sure your Claude app is updated, or try it at claude.ai.
Can I keep editing it in PowerPoint or Google Slides?
Yes. Download it as a PowerPoint. For Google Slides, upload that file to Google Drive and open it with Google Slides. Click through once after, since fonts and spacing can shift a little.
Where did my speaker notes go?
Ask "Give me my speaker notes for every slide here in the chat." Then they're easy to copy, print or read off your phone.
Can I use this for work?
Check your company's rules on AI first. Leave out anything confidential, and swap real names for "Client A" if you're not sure.
Can my kid use Claude for their project?
Claude is made for adults (18 and up), so you run it and your kid makes the choices. Check the teacher's rules on AI too.
Will this work in ChatGPT or Gemini?
The prompts are a great brief anywhere. The designed slides, clicking to edit and the download steps on this page are for Claude, because that's what I tested.
